Good News for me…

I had a moment where I got upset with mysel and almost gave up on studying Hangul. I had to remind myself the purpose of wanting to re-learn Korean.
I love the language, food, and culture. Even if, I never get to travel to Korea, at least I would have a little piece of its culture: the Korean language.

I am proud of myself because I’m almost done with LEVEL 1 of my TTMIK workbook. Yay, me! I still have some issues [not with the lessons] when it comes to my speaking the language or typing. I tend to be informal because I’m thinking American grammar format rather than Korean grammar format, which could be a problem for older Koreans. [They take their honorifics very seriously and I respect that.] I do forget that at times and often time, I feel like I’m learning two type of Korean languages…

Also, during my quest of soaking up some Korean knowledge. A person from my favorite app HelloTalk [I can’t remember who] posted their blog info for those who were studying or wanted to learn Korean. OMG! I loved the blog when I checked it out. It’s so organized. It has the different skill levels, grammar, reading, and etc. I was hooked. I love the reading because I read it out loud to practice my pronounciation [despite the fact that I read it super frickin’ slow]. I’ll add the link to my resource page, but its definitely a page to check out. The blog is called: Fun Korean [check it out!]

Now, if I could just find a site or an app that would help me pronounce Hangul better and faster, that would be awesome. If you know of any, pllllllleassseeee post it in the comment box below. Until next time….

Memrise, Memrise must you flutter my heart?

I’ve used Memrise before like on the browser. However, a few days ago, I actually downloaded the app and I’m having it my way and lovin’ it! lol. Its helping me memrise new words and keeping it fresh in my head.

Also, I was on LINE early this morning; chatting a bit with my newest friend, Joon. Although we both struggle with each other’s language, we helped each other out and made it our goal to be able to hold a basic conversation without troubles in six months. We can do it. His English was really good. My Korean was really bad, lol.

I have confidence, though. Which is surprising because I’m not really a confident in my ability to do things. A sucky ideal, but….that’s the way my cookie crumbles. Anyways, I had fun on the voice call. Why does Korean males sound so soothing to listen to? lol.

Welp, I’m off to go study some phrases. Later alligator.

안녕하세요~

안녕하세요!

I haven’t been posting due to being sick. Buh…..I’m feeling better now.
I have been studying my TTMIK lessons. However, lesson 13 & 14, I’m getting stuck on memorizing the vocab & grammar. I must study harder before trying to progress forward. I want to make sure that I have it allllllllllllllllllllllll~ Well, before December anyways.

Even when I’m not studying my TTMIK lessons, I try to keep some form of Korean studying around me whether its music, apps, or Kdramas.  I’ve been listening to some K-Rap and Kpop [esp. Psy’s “I luv it” & “New Face”.

and I’ve been watching the K-drama “To the beautiful you.” [I’m currently on ep.10]. I don’t like watching the current dramas when everyone else is watching it. Don’t want any spoilers.

I’ve also been using the language exchange apps:

HelloTalk and Anygram are my favorite thus far. However, I’m on HT the most. You can always find someone to chat with on HT. I’m not on Anygram that much, but I do have interactions every now and then. I found another language exchange app that I thought was pretty cool. You can’t just sign up and log in to Tandem. They do some sort of check into you, which I like. My only issue is that its hard to chat with people. It never seem like anyone is online despite the green light saying that they are online.

However, I still think people should check it out. You may get a better luck than I did. Who knows? I do want to language exchange via Skype, but I haven’t had the time to do that or look into it yet. Well, its officially Sunday. I hope today won’t be a drag like  my Saturday [besides watching Kdramas]. I’m going to try to study diligently. However, I do want to talk to Koreans and work on my dialoug. Any suggestions on apps/sites to use?

Welp, I shall lay down and stare up at nothing….maybe, lol.
